The $25,000 WQS 2-Star Men’s RUSTY BELMAR PRO, kicks off Thursday,
September 8 through Sunday, September 11, 2005 at the 17th Avenue Beach in
Belmar, New Jersey. First round heats begin at 8:00 am and run until 4pm
Thursday through Saturday. Finals and awards ceremony presentations are
scheduled for Sunday at 3pm in front of the main scaffold, with East Coast Hall
of Fame and local resident surf legend Cecil Lear presenting the winner with a
special trophy from the Borough of Belmar.

Live bands on the boardwalk all day Friday and Saturday at 17th Avenue,
including local favorite Barry and the
Penetrators.
Family activities include: Friday night bonfire, starting at 8:00 pm on the 17th
Avenue beachfront, with live musical entertainment; and a Saturday evening
outdoor screening of the movie “Step Into Liquid” on the 17th
Avenue beachfront, both presented by the Borough of Belmar and Mayor Kenny
Pringle. Friday and Saturday, enjoy sand castle building contests at the 18th
Avenue UNIQLO sandcastle demonstration area.
The US
Marines dare all comers to test their chin-up skills on the bar all day Saturday
at 17th Avenue, with free giveaways to anyone who passes the challenge.
RUSTY will have demo
boards on the beach all weekend, so everyone can try out their hottest new
models.
Official
Rusty Belmar Pro Party, Friday, September 9 at D'Jais in Belmar, brought to you
by RED BULL and RUSTY. Rusty Team riders Tarik Khashoggi, Sean Harrington, James
Catto, Eddie Gilbeau, Eric Rheaume, Hunter Heverly, Mike Shermer
and other pros will be on the outside deck from 5pm to 7pm signing
autographs. At 8pm, the 21 and older party begins inside with Red Bull videos
and drink specials.
Official Contest T-shirts and Programs (great to use for pro autographs) will be
available all weekend at special prices.
